University of Illinois at Chicago implements OccuPro software

The University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center recently implemented OccuPro comprehensive suite of web based industrial rehab software. UIC used a Functional Capacity Evaluation software system for the last 10 years but was looking to grow their worker's compensation presence and specialty in Chicago. They were also looking to enhance their industrial rehab program and turned to OccuPro's innovative and profitable industrial rehab approach.Following OccuPro's 4 day Comprehensive Industrial Rehab Training course and software implementation, at UIC, some of the attendees at the course reported:
"The instructor was great! He was very knowledgable, entertaining, and made the 4 days go quickly." - Alison Duncombe, PT, OCS, FAAOMPT
"I learned a tremendous amount with excellent new approaches to solve problematic client issues." - Mike LIttleton, MPH, OTR/L, CHT
"Jim Mecham did an excellent job teaching this material. He brought real world anecdotes to help us understand the material." - Sara Thorne, DPT, OCS
UIC has had an established Functional Capacity Evaluation program for the last 10 years. As they were looking to grow and enhance their FCE program they contacted OccuPro to learn more about what OccuPro offers. UIC quickly realized that the six different industrial rehab testing options all in one web based industrial rehab software system was exactly what they were looking for. They now have a software and testing system that allows them to choose from a full menu of return to work functional testing options. They also have the latest web based Functional Capacity Evaluation testing system offering a 100% kinesiophysical approach to performing an FCE.Following the completion of OccuPro's 4 day Comprehensive Industrial Rehab Training course and the implementation of OccuPro's software within UIC's rehab department, UIC was deemed a Chicago based hospital that is a specialist in the treatment of the injured worker.
As many hospitals and rehab clinics have done, UIC is planning on having the rest of their outpatient rehab therapists trained to perform Functional Progress Notes and Functional Discharge Summaries so all their worker's compensation patients can have functional re-assessments performed during outpatient therapy. This will change their rehab department from a department that treats from initial eval to discharge, to a department that treats from initial eval to full duty return to work.
These Functional Progress Notes TM and Functional Discharge Summaries TM are functional re-assessments that are performed during outpatient therapy. Unlike an FCE that tests a persons entire body, these functional re-assessments test the injured joint to help determine if the injured joint is ready to return to full duty work. These functional re-assessments do not require a Dr's order, do not require insurance approval, and usually are a 50% to 100% higher charge ticket during a patient visit as compared to a standard re-eval charge ticket. The methodologies OccuPro teaches clinics throughout the United States include implementing a full approach to industrial rehab from initial outpatient eval all the way to return to work. Clinics that implement OccuPro's Online Assessment Application and participate in their Comprehensive Industrial Rehab Training course are clinics that specialize in the treatment of the injured worker.
OccuPro's Online Assessment Application is the fastest growing tool hospitals and rehab practices are implementing because it offers a full approach to treating the injured worker. The Online Assessment Application has the most testing options available on the open market which include
performing: - Functional Capacity Evaluation
- Work Hardening/Conditioning
- Job Demands Analysis
- Pre-Placement Post-Offer Testing
- Functional Progress Note TM
- Functional Discharge Summary TM
