Publication: Latest Research Shows The OccuPro FCE Is Reliable

We are excited to announce the publication of our most recent research, "An evaluation of the inter-rater and intra-rater reliability of OccuPro's functional capacity evaluation." Performed by Jim Mecham, Vic Zuccarello, Carrie Scheel, and Ryan Mattes, the research includes three studies used to test the reliability of the OccuPro FCE. OccuPro's functional capacity evaluation method is used worldwide by thousands of medical professionals to provide their customers with job specific or general purpose/disability based FCEs.

The three studies summarized in this research indicated that OccuPro's FCEs four upper extremity subtests have moderate to excellent inter-rater reliability. A second and third study showed that the inter-rater reliability of subjects in the study were excellent and intra-reliability was moderate to good.

"The overall conclusion that can be drawn is that multiple therapists could use OccuPro's FCE method with the same patient or multiple patients and have confidence they will achieve consistent results and make sound return-to-work or residual functional capacity decisions," says Jim Mecham, MSIE, OTR/L, CPE, Co-Owner and COO of OccuPro."
