- Interpret essential job functions and physical job demands to create valid and defensible testing protocols
- Perform a comprehensive job demands analysis to identify critical physical requirements of a position
- Develop standardized testing processes that improve consistency, reliability, and legal defensibility
- Select appropriate testing equipment, space requirements, and evaluation procedures for a POET program
- Document objective findings using industry-standard employment testing terminology and reporting methods
- Determine pass/fail criteria based on bona fide occupational requirements and validated job demands
- Establish workflows and operational processes necessary to launch a successful post offer employment testing program
Day 2: Test Administration, Interpretation, and Program Implementation
By the end of Day 2, participants will be able to:
- Administer upper extremity, material handling, positional tolerance, and functional performance testing procedures commonly used in POET evaluations
- Evaluate lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balance, and mobility activities against job-specific requirements
- Determine whether a candidate demonstrates the physical abilities required to safely perform essential job functions
- Apply objective and consistent scoring methodologies during employment testing
- Interpret evaluation findings and make evidence-based recommendation decisions using predetermined job criteria
- Develop legally defensible documentation that supports hiring decisions and employer communication
- Identify common errors, risk factors, and challenges associated with post offer employment testing programs
- Communicate outcomes effectively with employers, human resource professionals, and occupational health stakeholders
- Implement quality assurance processes that promote consistency and reliability across evaluators and testing locations
